USA Hockey Registration / Certification
USA Hockey requires both registration and certification in order to coach. All coaches (returning + new) must register and complete the Background Screening, SafeSport Training and attend a virtual coaching clinic. All new coaches must also complete a one-time Age Based Module. All items must be completed in order to be eligible to coach.
Returning/New Coaches:
- To register as a coach with USA Hockey click here. There is a $54 fee.
- To complete a Background Screen click here. A copy of a gov't photo ID is required. There is a $30 fee. Allow 3-5 days for completion.
- To complete the SafeSport Training click here. A renewal is only necessary for returning coaches.
- To attend a certification clinic click here for the schedule of available dates. There is a $55 fee. New coaches need a CEP Level 1 certification. Returning coaches are to register up one (1) CEP Level from his/her existing certification. Attending virtual clinics outside the New York district is permitted.
New Coaches (add'l certifications):
- To complete an Age-Specific Module click here. Mini Mite & Mite coaches require 8U certification. Squirt coaches require 10U certification. There is a $10 fee per module.
