Mites (8U)
The primary focus in the Mites (8U) Program is to introduce hockey fundamentals and skill development while continuing to have fun and develop a passion for the game. The Mites (8U) Program will set the foundation for the players' hockey development and prepare them to progress through older age divisions
Ages
1st graders, 2nd graders and some 3rd graders (2015 birth year)
Depending on the number of registrants, we will create multiple teams. In years past we have at least two Mites teams - Red and Blue
When
Season begins with the 1st practice on October 6th, 2023 and runs until March 8th, 2024
Practices
CONFIRMED: Fridays from 1:30-3:20pm for 1st grade.
2:00 - 3:50pm for 2nd grade and 3rd grade.

Where
All practices will be held at Sky Rink in Chelsea Piers. See "Ice Rinks" for more details
Games
All Mites are members of the Kips Bay League. League games will be held between mid-to-late November 2023 and end of February 2024. There will be 12-14 games incl. playoffs for each team.
Older Mites also compete in the Private School Select League ("PSSL") on Friday nights - aka "Mite Nite". There will be up to 8 games.
Additional games may be added throughout the season by invitation from other hockey clubs in the tri-state area.
Where
All Kips Bay League games will be held at the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club.
All PSSL games will be held at Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers.
